Defense Layer #3

Bad Actors Locked Out of All Sample Sources.

We’ve created the market research industry’s first-ever “No-Fly” list to ensure the permanent exclusion of all known bad actors from entering or re-entering any survey, when run through Rep Data. Rep Data is uniquely able to create and maintain this list thanks to its ability to see and record 4.1 billion survey scans across nearly 200 sample sources, with approximately 15 million more scans coming in each day. Most have no idea how many times these same bad actors are popping up across the same sample sources over and over again, regardless of which source you use.

Even if a respondent is taking your survey through a first-party source, you might not know that it’s the 267th survey of their day, because it’s a bad actor equipped to game the system across many panels. You also might not know that they’ve already answered that same survey in three other sources that happen to share samples behind the scenes due to supply shifts. The industry is messy, and the No-Fly list addition to Rep Data’s Research Defender fraud prevention suite helps researchers clean it all up for their projects, permanently.

Live, in-survey, 360-degree data quality assessment

Surveys undergo a comprehensive series of quality checks. The results are consolidated into the ReDem® Score (R-Score), which combines all relevant quality criteria and provides a transparent, objective assessment of the data quality in your survey responses.

The ReDem® Score summarizes all quality aspects of a survey in a single value – transparent, objective, and comparable.

Open-Ended Score

The Open-Ended Score (OES) is an AI-based check of written answers to open-ended questions. It controls for:

- AI-generated answers
- Wrong topic
- Wrong language
- Bad language

- Duplicates
- Generic answers
- No information
- Nonsense

AI-Detection

The AI Detection Check analyzes open-ended responses for subtle linguistic features such as grammar, syntax, word choice, and style of expression, and determines the likelihood of artificial generation.

Duplicate Check

The Duplicate Check identifies potentially fraudulent responses by detecting both exact duplicates and partial matches, within a single respondent’s questionnaire as well as across different respondents.

Coherence Score (CHS)

The Coherence Score uses artificial intelligence to assess the logical consistency and plausibility of responses across the entire survey, regardless of question type.

Contradictory answers are automatically detected without the need to program special control or trap questions.

Behavioral Analytics Score (BAS)

The Behavioral Analytics Score analyzes typing behavior in open-ended survey responses. It examines factors such as keystroke rhythm, pauses, and input speed to distinguish between natural human typing patterns, copy-pasted text, and potentially automated or bot-like input.

Try It Yourself

Time Score (TS)

The ReDem tool tracks both the total interview time and the time spent on each question, automatically detecting when a participant’s speed deviates from the norm.

Grid-Question Score (GQS)

The Grid Question Score evaluates respondents by identifying patterns in their response behavior within one or across multiple item batteries.

The Real-time cleaning feature automatically removes poor responses while your survey is live.

Live quotas eliminate the need for costly re-recruitment of respondents or project delays.
